This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules for using USMail services. By using USMail, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Prohibited uses
You may not use USMail to:
- Send spam: Unsolicited bulk email, commercial messages to recipients who have not opted in, or any form of mass unsolicited communication
- Distribute malware: Send or distribute viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any malicious code
- Phishing: Conduct phishing attacks, social engineering, or impersonate other individuals or organizations
- Harassment: Harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm any person
- Illegal content: Transmit content that is illegal under applicable law, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, content that infringes intellectual property rights, or content that promotes illegal activity
- System abuse: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or account; conduct denial-of-service attacks; or interfere with the operation of USMail or third-party services
- Deceptive practices: Forge email headers, misrepresent your identity, or use USMail to deceive recipients
- Circumvention: Attempt to circumvent usage limits, security measures, or access controls
Email sending standards
When using USMail to send email, you must:
- Only send to recipients who have given explicit consent to receive email from you
- Include a valid physical mailing address in commercial emails
- Honor unsubscribe requests promptly
- Accurately identify yourself as the sender
- Not use misleading subject lines
Enforcement
We monitor for violations of this policy. If we detect or receive reports of violations, we may:
- Issue a warning and require corrective action
- Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanently terminate your account
- Report violations to law enforcement where required
